Field names with asterisks (*) are required fields. Note that the examples below are presented in wikicode and do not necessarily reflect actual statistics.

name * 
Official name in English.
native_name 
Official name in its native language.
image_name 
The university's official or ceremonial seal, shield or coat of arms that is used for high profile ceremonial events such as convocation, for degree certificates, and official transcripts. Use the image filename without Image: namespace prefix. Produces an image of 200px by default.
image_size 
Use in conjunction with image_name. Allows editors to specify an image width rather than use the default. Should only be included if the image is (or is desired to be) less than 200px in width.
caption 
Caption text for the infobox image. May include wiki syntax.
type 
Public, private, four year, undergraduate, graduate, etc.
calendar 
Calendar system (semester, quarter, trimester, etc.).
admityear 
Year of the admit rate given.
admitrate 
The undergraduate admission rate. Required if admityear is defined.
affiliation 
Religious affiliation. Note that affiliations, which is described below, is used for academic/sporting affiliations.
faculty 
Number of faculty members. Use for North American universities and locations where the term "faculty" carries this meaning. Otherwise, use staff.
staff 
Number of teaching staff. Use in place of faculty for universities outside North America or locations which use that term.
students 
Total student count. use undergrad, postgrad, doctoral and other for additional detail.
undergrad 
Total undergraduate enrollment.
postgrad 
Total postgraduate enrollment.
doctoral 
Total doctoral enrollment.
transfer 
Total transfer student enrollment.
international 
Total international student enrollment.
other 
Other student enrollment. Specify a category if possible.
male 
The percentage of male students.
female 
The percentage of female students.
ethnic 
List the percentage breakdown for each ethnicity. Separate each ethnicity with a line break <br />.
graduation 
The percentage of students that graduate within a certain number of years. Separate each stat with a line break <br />.
housing 
The number of years of on-campus housing guaranteed by the university.
oncampus 
The percentage of students that live on-campus.
state 
U.S. state or similar administrative subdivision. Use in conjunction with country, and do not use with province. Provide wikilink if possible.
province 
For all other administrative subdivisions; use as an alternative to state in conjunction with country.
country 
Country in which the university is based. Use in conjunction with city and, optionally, state or province. Provide wikilink if possible.
campus 
Urban, rural, multiple campuses, etc.
free_label, free 
Use free_label to display any specialty field title. Use free to display the related data.
tuition 
The annual tuition fee.
financial 
The percentage of students receiving financial aid.
sports 
Primary university sports.
colors, colours 
Official university colo(u)rs. Use the appropriate parameter based on whether the location primarily uses the spelling color or colour.
affiliations 
List of academic/sporting affiliations and memberships. Provide wikilink if possible.
coordinates 
Geographical latitude and longitude location of the campus. Coordinates are used to link to Google Maps. More details can be found on the documentation page.
address 
Main address of the campus.
website 
Official university website. May be entered as raw URL, or using external link syntax (useful for when the URL is very long).
logo 
Use for the university subsidiary logo, such as branding image, logotype, athletics logo, corporate emblem, or similar image used on stationery, business cards, publications, newsletters, advertisements, Web sites, flyers, or signs. Enter full image syntax.
footnotes 
Footnotes for the infobox. Useful for including references for data.
